Easter 2011

Easter Sunday was great! We had such a good day together as a family. It was nice and relaxing. It was stake conference at church, so we decided to take the day off from church. I enjoyed the day off probably more than I should have.

Yeah, all these eggs had candy in them. It's now about 5 days after easter and most all of the candy is gone. The easter bunny brought the kids a Mario Kart Wii Game.

Sammy got a new bike for easter. Spoiled for sure.

And my cute Maegan enjoyed the egg hunts the best.

Tree

I got the tree done!!

Wall flowers

Sammy and Maegan have this big empty wall above their bed, and I decided I wanted to do something fun. I made some large fabric flowers with cross stitching loops and a whole lot of hot glue. The stems are ribbon and the leaves are fabric I adheared to the wall using liquid fabric starch. I think they turned out pretty cute. I'm thinking about doing a large tree off to the side of them with a big sunshine. I'll have to post again when I get the whole wall done.

Shooting Guns

Sunday, we went for a ride up the mountain and had some family fun. Tyler brought his guns so we could shoot them. It was the first sunday of April and of course, there had to be snow on the ground. It was a little cold, but at least it wasn't raining or snowing at the time.

Gwen's Baptism

Gwen's confirmation dress from Grandma Cheney.

Gwen was soooo excited to get baptized. She's been talking about it for months and I think she invited her whole school.

The white dress was just borrowed from the stake, (a lot more feminine than the jumpers, I think), but I made the white bow, which actually fell out when she got dunked and she had to go back in and dive for it.

Shirt Dress

I found this beautiful man's shirt at the d.I. and tyler refuses to wear it ;) The checker at the counter even noted that he knew why the shirt was donated. Guess he didn't think it was that hansome either So -I decided to make a dress out of it for Sammy. I started cutting it apart and sewing it back together so it fits her. I made the ruffle sleaves and a fabric flower with a blue button to match. The Front of the shirt actually turned out to be the back of the dress, where I used the same buttons and holes.

Hopefully it'll be a fun little play dress for her this summer. It was easy to make too, only took me about an hour start to finish. Gwen wants me to make her one now. I don't know if I can find that same shirt though, it was one of a kind. We'll see.
