4th of July

Fireworks

Before the fireworks we went out to eat as a family at Red Robin. Then we went as saw the fireworks down in Farmington. And met up with John and Stacy and their kids there. It was crazy busy and crowded but we had fun. There were bouncy slides the kids could slide down for a little bit and the fireworks were good too.

Here's Gwen, Dylan, and Sammy showing their glowing bracelets to the camera. The hill behind them was the entertainment until it got dark enough for the fireworks to starts. They rolled down the hill a whole lot.

Earlier that day: Gwen was in the North Ogden Cherry Days Parade for her Little Miss Harrisville Pageant. She loved it, but was bummed cuz they wouldn't let her throw candy. Tyler had to miss it, because he was actually driving his Cement truck in the Perry Days parade at the same time.

Here's Sammy and Alex waiting "patiently" for the Parade to start. *NOTICE in the bottom right hand corner that Maegan wasn't so patient. The parade was a little dissappointing for the kids. They only got a handful of candy total (not each)... But, it was kind of my fault too, because we were towards the end of the parade where they had ran out of a lot of candy already.

Sourdough

We went up to Sourdough with some family on a sunday morning.

It was a good time to get together when Rob and Natalie's family was in town.

Here's a few of the cousins sitting on the swinging bench up on Al & Sandy's property.Maegan, Issy, Sammy, Kaci, and Jesse

Crowning of Gwen. She was crowned first because she was 2nd runner up.

Pageant Formal Wear

Each girl had to have an escort for their formal wear. Lucky Tyler. I got Gwen this blue dress thinking her favorite color was blue...'till I bought it, then all of the sudden her favorite color changed to green. The ribbon around the waste that tied in the back was much smaller when I bought the dress.... I bought more satin fabric and thickened it out. I used the extra white satin for a flower centered with gems for her hair and made a bracelet. I also added about 3 yards of tulle underneath to give the dress more poof.

Pageant Casual Wear

This top was actually a dress I found, but origionally went all the way down to the floor. It was slightly too formal for the casual wear. So, I cut off the bottom and put the black leggings underneath it. With the extra fabric, I made a rosette head band with a matching bracelet and also added the rosettes at the top near the neck line. Yeah, I had to get out my sewing kit/machine for every outfit she wore.

Pageant Musical/ Dance Introduction

The theme for the pageant was "Shake Your Groove Thing". The girls all tried to shake their stuff while walking on stage. Gwen thought the chipmunks song was so much fun. They all had to wear these t-shirts that were HUGE on all the girls. I had to sew up the sleaves a little because it went past her elbow. They also had this not-so-cute head band and bracelet. -sorry. But at least they all looked the same.

Pageant Interviews

A week before the actual pageant, all the girls get their pictures professionally taken and then are interviewed by the judges. One lucky girl in each age group is given the most photogenic award. The night of the pictures, a storm was blowing in... It was so cold. I had Gwen wrapped in a thick blanket inbetween pictures and interviews. The storm just had to come though because it only took me over an hour just to curl her hair. Luckily I had enough hair spray on her it didn't do too much damage.

I made the hair bow.

....and the bracelet.

Swimming Lessons

I signed up Alex and Gwen again this year for swimming lessons.

I'll for sure have to sign Sammy up next year for sure.

They Love it!.. and look forward to swimming lessons every summer.
Gwen does so awesome.. She's a natural.

Great Grandma Cheney's Funeral

The funeral went well.

It was simple and sweet.

I thought taking my kids would end up being a nightmare.

But, they were pretty good.

Here's a few pictures I took right after the burial service.

Grandparents 60th Anniversary
